Analyst Mentor Nazarko stated that the US envoy for the Western Balkans, Gabriel Escobar, forced the SP and DP delegations to be together in Washington.
In an interview for "Abc news", he commented on Gazment Bardhi's visit to the USA and the political movements, which may be reflected by him after returning to Albania.
According to Nazarko, this visit will help Bardhi to see where the United States of America is aiming, in relation to the internal conflict with DP.
Gabriel Escobar forced the SP-PD delegations in the USA to be together. Bardhi is also favored by the credentials that the allied parties give him, they see Bardhi as a unifying figure in a temporary grouping of the right, which they call the federation. He seems to unite more than Basha and much more than Berisha. From the electoral point of view, is Bardhi exercising electoral appeal to the right? This is questionable. I don't see it that way. He has cultivated an identity, which is different from that of Berisha. The messages he has received from the US will help him clarify where the US is beating and trying. I expect him to demonstrate determination, but I am not sure that he produces votes ," he said.
He also analyzed another topic, which is related to the Parliamentary Commission of Electoral Reform, which has approved the work calendar in the online meeting, but again this commission does not have the consensus required by the international and OSCE-ODIHR. According to Nazarko, the opposition should be more interested in advancing its demands, as the SP is more comfortable at this point.
" From the constitutional point of view, either the CEC or the SP, which is the majority party, are within the constitutional parameters, if they conduct the elections in accordance with the existing Electoral Code. If the opposition parties fail to find a common denominator to advance the proposals, the majority is within their rights to go to the election with the current Code. There is a standard, which is the constitutional standard, and it is respected by the CEC and the SP ," he said.
He added that the current Electoral Code is reactionary, as it excludes new forces, which intend to enter electoral battles.
"There is another standard, which is political, that every change be with political consensus. If the parties do not agree, the SP is within its rights and this is an electoral code, which favors the two big parties and even more so the SP. It is a reactionary code in my opinion, because it does not allow new political movements to enter the scene. It keeps the political scene controlled only by the two big parties" , said Nazarko.
