Investigative journalist Artan Hoxha has spoken about the government, Prime Minister Rama and his connections with crime. He stated that crime brought Rama to power and then he turned them into businessmen by giving them tenders.
"Following this whole narrative that you made, that I have made several times and I have explained why Rama is where he is today. I had the opportunity and the fortune to see him when he was in opposition, sitting in these circles with those who grew up behind and I started to find them, Colombia, Ecuador, Bolivia, in these strange places and I have seen them there, I have seen them around him. So, he came together with them, making an agreement that we did not understand at the moment. But we also forgot the other thing, that this man has been the head of the municipality of Tirana for a very long time, which is a very important pole of power in this country, because recognition is ancient and not today. He used this alliance to come to power and after coming to power, he did what he did", Hoxha told "Syri TV".
The journalist continued by mentioning the first operations of the socialist government.
"The first actions he took in 2013, when the 'End of Madness' operation was carried out, which was actually the last madness. The gambling business was taken under control. Then came the second operation, the famous one in Lazarat in 2014, it was held under siege, we saw the battle, we saw the arsenal of those inside and the arsenal of the state. We saw what happened. An exit was created and the heads of the business fled. We were referred to that this was dismantled. From there it was seen that he was aiming to take control of what others had ," he said.
Journalist Hoxha further recalled the cannabisization of the country, specifically between 2015-2016.
"We remember what happened in 2015-2016, the cannabization of the country. No one spoke, not even from the diplomatic corps because I was in 5 embassies that year where I explained with a sign how it was done. Since then I have been saying that it was up to the prime minister, that a minister cannot do it. And from the beginning we saw how Rama's scheme of criminalizing the country was working," Karamuço added.
Hoxha also mentioned the 2017 elections and the involvement of criminal organizations. He stated that the elections were won because the largest criminal organizations of this country were involved in and are there. According to the journalist, 2021 was about cocaine.
"2017 came, we sacrificed the Minister of Interior by charging him for cannabis and moved on to cocaine, opening up on the continent and other continents. How was 2021 won? It was won because the largest criminal organizations of this country were involved in the parliamentary elections and are there. 2021 was about cocaine. With 1 ton of cocaine you win not only one election, but more. And then we saw how concessions were divided, the status of strategic investors and today we are in a situation where we cannot distinguish where politics ends, where business begins and where the world of crime is involved," he concluded.
Finally, Hoxha also mentioned the transformation of the criminal world into a business. "I remember a joke from one of these criminal world members: We were stupid, we thought we could get rich just by selling drugs. The one who came to power taught us to become businessmen. Get tenders, you made your first million there, come in here and work here."
