A 70-year-old man has been arrested in Has by order of the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction of Kukës, after being accused of being involved in the cultivation of narcotic plants and the unauthorized possession of weapons and ammunition.
According to the authorities, the citizen with the initials Rr.U. has been arrested, facing charges of "Cultivation of narcotic plants" and "Unlicensed production and possession of weapons and ammunition."
The arrest was made following checks conducted in the village of Vlahen, in the Has Municipality, where police discovered three plots planted with suspected cannabis sativa plants. During the operation, 1,874 narcotic plants were found and seized.
The search of the 70-year-old's apartment led to the seizure of 73 Model 56 cartridges, 7.62 mm caliber, three empty automatic rifle magazines, and two flamethrower fuses.
The Prosecution and Police announce that investigations are ongoing to identify other persons who may have been involved in this criminal activity.
