Lawyer and former prosecutor Ervin Karanxha has reacted after the gruesome murder of Judge Astrit Kalaja, inside the courtroom at the Court of Appeals.
Karanxha has shed light on the deep problems related to security conditions in judicial premises in Albania.
"If we ensured security conditions like in prison, there would be no trials at all ," Karanxha told "News 24", ironizing the situation.
According to him, if extreme security measures were implemented, then court hearings would not be able to take place in a functional manner.
"One person can't control 100 people, it's impossible. Only if he's 'Spider-Man' can he catch them all," the former prosecutor added in a critical tone.
Karanxha emphasized that it is not fair that the blame for such events rests solely with the security personnel.
"That guard will remain at fault, but the work is not the guard's fault. The foundation of the problem is deeper," concluded Karanxha, implying that the failure is systematic and has to do with the way the entire justice and security system in the country is built and functions.
