Eridana Çano held the post of director of the Co-Governance Agency, a propaganda mechanism created by Edi Rama after winning the second mandate in 2017, which was then sanctioned by a special law. Earlier, she was director of the cabinet of the Minister of Local Government in Rama's first term.
The extended hand of Ilir Beqaj and Mirela Kumbaro in the funds of the SASPAC agency (State Agency for Strategic Programming and Aid Coordination) of the EU has caused problems for the government, but this has not prevented Rama from finding other names to replace them. .
After the former minister Ilir Beqaj was handcuffed by SPAK, Eridana Çano has been made official at the head of the SASPAC agency.
After "systematizing" her sister-in-law, Lorena Goxhobelli, at the head of the Cadastre, Çano received from Rama the firm to run the infamous agency created just for Ilir Beqaj, where the former minister ended up in prison due to the abuse of funds EU.
On July 29, 2024, Rama fired Jona Suli only 7 months after she was appointed to that agency as the extended hand of Ilir Beqaj and Mirela Kumbaro.
Along with her dismissal, the announcement for the new head of SASPAC was also opened. As with all Renaissance contests, this was the next in a series of many other facade contests with predetermined winners.

SASPAC was created in 2021 as a giant ministry that managed foreign aid to Albania, multi-million euro programs of the EU and other donors.
Just like at the Ministry of Health, also in this agency Ilir Beqja did what he has always done whenever he had something in hand; put his hands in the funds that the European Union gives to Albania. In addition to reconfirming once again the old axiom that vice comes with the soul, it finally overthrew Edi Rama's idiotic theory that there are no two-meter-tall thieves.
The arrest of Beqaj by SPAK for EU funds
Former minister Ilir Beqaj was remanded in prison by the Special Court of Appeal, which did not accept the financial guarantee of 50 million alleks for easing the security measures.
Beqaj was detained on July 4, 2024 at the request of the Special Prosecutor's Office, SPAK for criminal offenses of corruption, violation of equality in tenders and concealment or non-declaration of assets or private interests - charges related to some procurement procedures carried out by the State Programming Agency Strategic and Aid Coordination (SASPAC), which he led from its inception.
The task of this agency was the more efficient management of European Union funds, which allegedly ended up in the pockets of Beqaj and his associates. The appeal also left the associate of the former minister, Ermal Kurtulajn, who held the position of coordinator of the 'EUSAIR Facility Point' program financed by the European Union.
The other accused in this file, Alfred Nikolla, Elton Marini, Bledar Leka, Bjona Ziaj and Gazmend Haxhia, were left with the security measures of house arrest and mandatory appearance as was also determined by the Special Court of First Instance.
