The secretary for legal affairs in the Democratic Party, Indrit Sefa, has stated that the Democratic Party has had a constant and stable attitude regarding the requests of the justice bodies for the investigation of the deputies.
Sefa made his comments through a link with "Euronews Albania" where he commented on SPAK's request to the Assembly for the removal of Berisha's immunity and his arrest.
Sefa said that for PD, the immunity of deputies should not exist, because according to him, this is the only way for justice to do its job.
" The DP has a constant position regarding such demands of SPAK, it is enough to remember the positions we held for Ahmatej, for Bllak, for Tahir and so on. It is the constant position of DP in support of SPAK.
We are aware that every SPAK request must be accepted by the Parliament. There should be no immunity for PD.
It has been the DP since 2012 that requested the removal of immunity for parliamentarians. This is a coherent position of the Democratic Party, to give justice the opportunity to raise charges and continue the investigation on similar issues ", said Sefa.
