The spokesman of Iran's Foreign Ministry, Nasser Kana'ani, said that the MEK mujahedin will always pose a threat to Albania's security due to their terrorist nature.
Iranian media write that Kana'ani in a tweet has emphasized that for this reason the Iraqi government expelled them and other governments refused to accept them.
"We hope that the Albanian government will compensate for its mistake in welcoming these terrorists", he added.
The police in Albania have conducted checks in the camp belonging to the anti-Iranian terrorist organization Mujahedin-e-Khalq (MKO) due to its involvement in "terrorist and cyber attacks" against foreign institutions.
Clashes erupted when police attacked the camp, known as Ashraf-3, northwest of the capital Tirana on Tuesday. Reports say one person was killed and dozens injured in the clashes. The Special Court of Albania Against Crime and Corruption authorized the operation due to concerns that MKO was involved in terror and cyber attacks.
