A protest by Greek unions has 'paralyzed' traffic at all border points between Albania and Greece.
Due to a protest that will be held by the Greek customs officers, the passage of vehicles will not be allowed from today until April 4 at the border crossing points, Qafë Botë, Tre Urat, Kakavijë and Kapshticë.
The crossing will be closed from April 2 to April 4 for small vehicles, heavy tonnage vehicles (trucks), buses and taxi services. So, if vehicles or trucks leave Albania for Greece, or vice versa Greece-Albania, they will not be allowed to pass through these 4 border points.
Exceptions are only for pedestrians and emergency cases, who will be able to cross easily. The announcement the day before has caused many citizens to move towards Greece yesterday.
According to the police, during the last 24 hours, 2,504 citizens entered Kapshtica and 2,335 left.
Greek customs officers are protesting for better working conditions, salary increases and increased staffing.
