The case of the former mayor of Bulqiza, Lefter Alla, and other former officials of the municipality has gone to trial.
The court rejected Alla's request to dismiss the case.
Former mayor Alla and 10 others requested a shortened trial, while two other defendants requested a normal trial.
Their arrest was made in March of this year after they are accused of favoring Alla's relative, Aqif Konesha, who carried out the works of the new water supply in the tender competition. It is about the tender "Construction of the water supply and distribution network in the old quarter of the city of Bulqiza, worth about 3 million euros, with a time limit of 10 months.
For former mayor Alla and former vice-mayor Lleshi, the charges for the criminal offenses "Violation of the equality of participants in public tenders or auctions" and "Abuse of office" are heavy.
