Journalist Klodiana Lala has denounced the director of the Port of Durrës, Pirro Vengu. Lala writes that Vengu has appointed his aunt's son as Operational Director. The outraged journalist says on Facebook that the port is going bankrupt.
She calls on the prosecution to investigate the case in question.
" I've been trying to spread a denunciation about the Port of Durrës for an hour and FB won't let me. Because I violated the standards. I am saying it in simple words. The General Director of the Port has appointed his aunt's son as Operational Director. The port is going bankrupt! The prosecution must investigate! ",- writes Lala.
Who is Pirro Vengu?
The director of the Durrës Sea Port, Pirro Vengu, is a Greek citizen. He was appointed to this position in complete violation of the Constitution and the National Security Law, which prohibit foreigners, even with dual citizenship, from being appointed leaders in strategic sectors.
Vengu had several important tasks before this appointment. He was the chief of staff of the former Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Ditmir Bushati in the "Rama 1" government. In 2017, he was appointed director of anti-corruption in the Prime Minister.
