KLP starts procedures for Dumani's successor tomorrow, files of 4

The High Prosecutorial Council will begin the procedures to elect the new head of SPAK tomorrow. At 10:00 AM, the KLP will gather its members to review whether the four candidates for the leadership of SPAK meet the legal requirements to continue the race.

The agenda will be the approval of the list of names that pass the first formal phase. Only after this will the candidates be invited for interviews and platform presentations before the KLP.

" Discussion/approval of the draft decision: "On the approval of the list of candidates who meet
the legal requirements for candidacy for Head of the Special Prosecution Office against Corruption
and Organized Crime". This meeting will be organized in the meeting room in the presence of the Members of the High Prosecution Council, as well as representatives from the Prosecutor General, the Ministry of Justice, the Eu4Justice Project and the OPDAT Program ", officially announces the KLP.

The four names in the race are: Adnan Xholi, Klodian Braho, Doloreza Musabelliu and Ervin Gokaj. All four have submitted their applications and vision for the leadership of SPAK, while the procedure is expected to last several weeks. Altin Dumani's mandate ends on December 18 and the battle for the successor is officially open.

But this process is not simply administrative. Already, international partners have raised the alarm about political efforts to influence the selection of the new head of SPAK. The US, EU and other diplomats have publicly demanded that the process be transparent, fair and untainted by narrow interests.
