The Special Prosecutor's Office has launched investigations into the mayor of Këlcyra, Klement Ndoni.
Another citizen was questioned, for whom there are suspicions that she was offered support in the form of a bribe in return for voting for the left-wing mayor.
Criminal procedure no. 178 of 2023, for which Ndoni is under investigation by prosecutor Ols Dado, has to do with suspicions of election crimes, also denounced by citizens of Këlcyra.
Exactly one of them, a 75-year-old man, appeared last Wednesday at SPAK to be questioned.
In the denunciation made by him before the elections on May 14, he claimed that local officials in this municipality offered economic assistance and employment to his unemployed son in exchange for his family's votes in favor of the socialist candidate for the head of the municipality, Klement Ndoni. who was seeking a fourth term in this position.
According to whistleblower Agim Bakushllari, the episode happened in the City Hall offices just two days before the local elections. Some have been reported to the prosecutor's office before with accusations of abuse of office, in some projects in the city or appointments in the public sector.
