The Special Court dismissed the preliminary requests of Fredi Beleri and Pandeli Kokaveshi for declaring the investigative documents invalid.
GJKKO assessed that this request was not based on the law.
After this decision, Beler's lawyers asked for the dismissal of the jury. While the court decided to submit this request in writing to the court secretariat.
The judicial review of the Beleri case is now ongoing, while the latter was not present at the hearing.
Meanwhile, outside the GJKKO, activists of the national issue have protested against Fredi Beleri, while they have compared him to the former vice-president of the Serbian List, Radoçiç, who participated in the attack in the north of Kosovo.
As can be seen from the images, "Beleri in the south, Radoicic in the north", is written on the banner.
After the departure of Etleva Dede from the judging panel, Flora Hajredinajn was appointed in her place as a substitute judge who asked for time to familiarize herself with the file. We recall that Fredi Beler's lawyers requested the total invalidity of the prosecution file. Fredi Beleri and his staff member Pandei Kokaveshi were arrested on May 12 on charges of election corruption.
GJKKO did not comment on Beler's request for the declaration of invalidity of investigative acts, which would automatically result in the dismissal of the case.
Fredi Beleri was arrested in the premises of a bar in Himare, just 2 days before the local elections on May 14, after he was caught red-handed with his colleague Pandeli Kokaveshi buying votes. Beleri could not take office, as the judicial authorities did not give him permission to take the oath.
