Lawyer Kreshnik Spahiu said that verbal attacks on judges and prosecutors by politicians whenever the latter feel threatened by trial for violations they may have committed against the law, fuel citizens' hatred of the justice system.
Recalling the murder of judge Astrit Kalaja, Spahiu said that today's political class has an interest in ensuring that in the eyes of the public, the problem is not them, but the judges and prosecutors.
"In their entirety, both reports, both those of the Prosecutor General and SPAK, were characterized by concerns about political pressures. Both statements or hearings in Parliament were after a very serious event that occurred in the justice system. Consequently and in the logic of all analyses, the assassinations and murders of judges and prosecutors come as a result of the inspiration and rhetoric that comes from the statements of political leaders towards the judicial system. They essentially constitute a kind of inspiration for crime, to target prosecutors. The political class today has an interest in the public's eyes that the problem is not them, but the judges and prosecutors," Spahiu told Report TV.
