Astrit Kalasa's murder, Elvis Shkambi's lawyer gives details: There

Elvis Shakmbi's lawyer, Kujtim Ibraj, revealed details from the testimony of the author of the murder of judge Astrit Kalaja at the Court of Appeals.

Invited to "Albania Live", Ibraj revealed that there was an argument between Shkambi and the late judge in the previous session (before the crime occurred).

He further added that everything was done under difficult emotional conditions due to the ordeal of trials, debts, and economic difficulties.

Regarding the charges against Elvis Shkambi, Ibraj said that his client is accused of murdering high-ranking officials and possessing weapons without a permit.

"Elvis Shkambi has explained the entire dynamics even in the re-evaluation session of the security measure. From the moment they arrived in Tirana, they have stopped in several places, they have gone to a death case, then they have submitted a request to a court.

The weapon was not licensed. As for the uncle, he said that he had no knowledge that he could do such an act or that he had a weapon with him. He was in a serious psychological state and everything happened in seconds.

The judge also had a debate with Gjon and Elvis Shkambi in the previous session. The late Kalaja drew their attention to the silence in the hall. It was a light controversy.

Elvis Shkambi told me that everything was emotional, in conditions of high psychological shock, debts. It had reached a boiling point where their family had reached difficult economic conditions.

The 31 bullets that were found did not belong to Elvis Shkambi, they were found in his uncle's car. After committing the murder, Elvis told his uncle: "You can leave, you have no business, you can take the car and look after your work." At that moment, Gjon Shkambi did not move, he waited for the police to arrest his nephew. There was no collaboration. They were maneuver bullets, not combat ones.

"Elvis Shkambi has expressed remorse and apologized to the Kalas family. As for the charges, he is accused of murdering high-ranking public officials and illegal possession of weapons. Blood is still running high, but they have expressed remorse, creating a calmer environment in family relations," the lawyer said.
