No one admits that there was preferential treatment to Denis Mece, but in an effort to leave the responsibility to someone else, the institutions have highlighted a series of procedural violations that risk ending this case with a light sentence.
The first dissatisfaction was expressed by the General Director of the Police, Muhamet Rrumbullaku. In the press conference where he threatened the journalists who were smearing the work of the police, Rrumbullaku said that the charge with which the incident was referred to the prosecution was "intentional murder". Afterwards, the prosecution had relieved him in the courtroom.
"If the Prosecutor's Office has requested a different measure than the one for which the State Police made the arrest, this is a matter that is neither up to us, nor do we have the right to comment on it," Rrumbullaku said.
That's how long it took for the Korca prosecutor's office to be set in motion. In the conditions when public opinion was boiling over the murder of Egli Proga, Rrumbullak's statement directed the irritation towards the prosecutor Vasjana Postol. This, in order not to be the "black sheep" of history, sat down and listed one by one the circumstances of the event, the tasks he had performed himself and the work the police had performed, highlighting the shortcomings of the blue uniforms.
The prosecutor hinted that she could change the charge against the arrested person again, but this would depend on the evidence that the police would bring, but to show that she would not accept the pressure, she filed a charge of abuse of duty against one of the policemen who were in the place of the event.
In general terms, the shortcomings mentioned by the prosecution for the work of the police were as follows:

investigation of the police inspector who accompanied Egli Proga to the hospital and who was the first to declare that the event was accidental,

The Korça Prosecutor's Office initially raised the claim that the State Police had not brought the legal expert report along with the arrested persons for the incident, but we clarify the public opinion that the expert report is carried out by the Scientific Police Institute, as opposed to the decisions on conducting the examination, and never this it is not done on the spot for the very way the process works and the compilation of the Expertise Act.
Regarding the charge that was brought against the patrol officer, the police say that he is not related to the police investigation nor to the operation to catch the perpetrator. The investigation is carried out by officers of the Judicial Police.
