In the show "Top Story", it was discussed about the process of self-cleaning in the state police and the officers who are involved in criminal groups.
Analyzing the case of operative Ervis Shkurta, known as Visi i Pazari, who was arrested on March 23 under the charge of helping criminal groups to exchange narcotics.
The journalist, Dorjana Bezat, giving details about Shkurta's role, said that the latter chose the place where the criminal group he was involved in could exchange drugs.
"The investigation started on January 15, when SPAK sent a letter to the prosecutor's office of Tirana to investigate 2 people who were supplying cocaine to areas of the capital. After storing the cocaine, they contacted various criminal groups. The investigation is still ongoing and it is expected that we will have other people who may be arrested.
Part of this group was also a person called "Visi i Pazari", a police officer who then caused the prosecution to investigate further. This person provided information on where drug trafficking would take place. He was anxious on the day of the operation. That area was selected by "Visi i Pazari" as an area not covered by cameras" - said Bezat.
While the journalist Xhevahir Zhabina said that it is to be welcomed the fact that SPAK's operation was not de-conspired, while also mentioning the arrested former leader, Oltion Bistri, he raised the concern that the Operational Forces may have de-conspired by himself in the previous actions.
"It is operationally effective. This is the concern that we should have since before we had the former director of the Operational Department who de-conspired his colleagues, but there are doubts that he may have done this even while he was leading the Operational Department. The last action is to be welcomed as it was not agreed before it happened. What I think should be discussed is how the self-cleaning of the state police should be done" - said Zhabina, among other things.
