The head of the General Directorate of Taxes, Ceno Klosi, resigns. It is learned that the resignation was submitted this morning.
Ceno Klosi was appointed to the position of General Director of Taxes on 22.10.2021. During the period 2015-2021, he held the position as Director of the Economic Department at the Electricity Distribution Operator (OSHEE).
In June 2021, he was appointed General Director of the National Water, Sewerage and Solid Waste Agency (AKUM).
During the time he led Taxes, there were many accusations against him, while there was also a lawsuit against SPAK by the Democratic Party. According to the information, the prosecutor's office has started investigations against him for abuse of office and corruption, and earlier there was talk of a phone seizure. Doubts are that the resignation has to do with this very thing.
" On the basis of the criminal report sent by the parliamentary group of the political entity Democratic Party, the Special Prosecutor's Office against Corruption and Organized Crime has registered Criminal Proceeding No. 259/2023 dated 13.12.2023, for the criminal offenses "Passive corruption of persons who exercise public functions", "Abuse of duty", "Forgery of documents" and "Fraud" , announced the prosecution earlier.
