Checks conducted at the Institution for the Execution of Criminal Decisions in Fier have discovered suspected narcotics, alcoholic beverages and mobile phones within the prison premises.
According to the official announcement, the checks were carried out within the framework of cooperation between the Agency for the Supervision of the Execution of Criminal Decisions System (AMSEVP) and the General Directorate of Prisons, with a focus on combating illegality in the penitentiary system.
During the operation, authorities found a significant amount of alcoholic beverages in one of the institution's rooms, as well as several cell phones hidden in common areas.
Meanwhile, during a personal search of a detainee, a quantity of suspected narcotics was found hidden in his personal clothing.

Following the information provided and joint checks between the Supervisory Agency for the Execution of Criminal Decisions System (AMSEVP) and the General Directorate of Prisons (DPB), to combat illegality in the Penitentiary System, today, on 23.05.2026, checks were carried out at the Fier Penitentiary Institution.
At the conclusion of the operational actions, a considerable amount of alcoholic beverages was found in one of the rooms of this penitentiary, as well as several mobile phones in various common areas.
Also, from the personal search of a citizen detained in this Penitentiary Institution, a quantity of suspected narcotics was found, hidden in his personal clothing.
At the conclusion of the procedural actions at the direction of the Prosecutor's Office at the Fier Court of First Instance, the AMSEVP OPGJ carried out:
● The arrest in flagrante delicto of citizen IB as it is suspected that this citizen has consumed the elements of the criminal offense "Bringing and keeping prohibited items in the Penitentiary Institution" provided for by article 324/ai of the Criminal Code. Currently, this citizen is detained in this Penitentiary Institution for the criminal offense "Unauthorized production and possession of combat weapons" provided for by article 278/4 and 189 of the Criminal Code.
● The arrest in flagrante delicto of citizen AM after he is suspected of having consumed the elements of the criminal offenses of "Production and sale of narcotics" and "Introduction and possession of prohibited items in the Penitentiary Institution," provided for by articles 283 and 324/ai of the Criminal Code. This citizen is currently sentenced to 12 years in prison for the criminal offense of "Intentional Murder" provided for by article 76 of the Criminal Code.
● Criminal proceedings have begun in a state of freedom for the criminal offense "Abuse of office" provided for in Article 248 of the Criminal Code, for employees of the Fier Penitentiary Institution:
1- A. H. Chief of Police at Fier Penitentiary Institution,
2- NH Head of the internal regime,
3-AM police specialist,
4-AM controller
5-OK controller
6-RS controller.
