Journalist Klodiana Lala has revealed some of the potential names for the State Police, such as Skënder Hita, Lorenc Panganika and Tonin Vocaj.
According to Lala, these names have had good performances, but Rama can make surprises.
She said that there are 14 candidates competing for this position, following the dismissal of Ilir Proda from the leadership of the State Police.
"There is a competition for this position. There are 14 candidates, two ladies did not qualify. They responded to the interview. A commission has been set up, with the participation of the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, the permanent secretary of the ministry and the head of the AMP, who yesterday scored the candidates and submitted the list to Minister Llamallari. Some of them have had a good performance. The race has narrowed down to really around 3-4 names. The minister proposes the name and then sends it to the Council of Ministers. I will take the courage to say 3-4 names, which are potential; Skënder Hita, current director of the Fier Police, Lorenc Panganika, who is at the State Police Academy, Tonin Vocaj, who has held important positions in the Police and Afrim Tafa. But Rama can make surprises. The police have challenges ahead. So this is the moment for the new police director to have the courage and say; no to politics!", she said for the show 'This Week'.
Lala said that other mechanisms need to be found for the new police director, also expressing her doubts about this process.
