A BBC investigation brought back the story of DP led by Lulzim Basha lobbying in the USA years ago to get a photo with former President Donald Trump.
Investigative journalist, Artan Hoxha, said in the show "The Unexposed", that the judicial process against him is open and will be taken to the end.
" We did not have a quasi-judicial process in Albania, otherwise this story would not be so foggy. When Berisha and Basha were together, this story was not like this, while when Berisha was declared non grata, an audit group was set up by Rithemelimi and they were told that 27,000 had come out for lobbying, not 600,000 as is said today. So it was a negligible amount. The former general secretary of the Democratic Party, Arben Ristani, and the financier Ilir Dervishi were also called, and it turned out that a negligible figure had emerged from the finances of the Democratic Party. The lobbyist in the US had stated that he had received this money. The investigation had to find out how this money got there. The lobbyist did not come here and testify there. This matter was subsequently shelved, but this needs to be clarified.
For the BBC today, there were 4 journalists who did the investigation. The story was not about Basha, but since he was from the Commission for Ukraine, they said that he cannot be that he has a conflict of interest and Lulzim Basha cannot be that he was financed by this money. The lobbying process is open and will be carried out to the end. It is like the story of Ilir Meta with lobbying. One of the Russian channels was used by Lulzim Basha to take lobbying money to the USA. One of these companies was used to make the transfer ," said Hoxha.
