Dumani said that SPAK's cooperation with Eurojust is an element that has made a difference in the fight against organized crime and corruption.
The head of SPAK, Altin Dumani, in his speech during the Chief Prosecutors' Forum held in Tirana, stated that no country in the region can face the phenomena of crime alone.
Dumani emphasized that the fight against organized crime is a battle that knows no geographical boundaries, but requires close regional and international cooperation. The head of SPAK said that in order to dismantle these structures, decisive action must be taken.
"We are not united only by geography, but also by a common commitment to fighting organized crime and corruption. No country in the region can face these phenomena alone. Criminal groups or organizations are interconnected, their transactional operations and networks are spread everywhere. An investigation that starts in one country leads us to the facts of suspects, or the movement of money in another country. To dismantle these structures, we need to act decisively not only within our respective territories, but also collectively as part of the region ," said Dumani.
He brought to attention SPAK's cooperation with Eurojust, as an element that has made a difference in the fight against organized crime and corruption.
"Eurojust is a strategic node that has helped us overcome obstacles to international cooperation. For SPAK, the cooperation has yielded tangible results."
In the Eurojust report, SPAK is the prosecution with the highest number of cases at Eurojust from non-EU member states. From January to May 2025, SPAK participated in ten of the coordinated meetings of Eurojust. Currently, SPAK has 23 joint investigation teams with EU countries, but also with countries in the region, as well as one team with a Latin American country, " added Dumani.
The head of SPAK praised, among other things, the cooperation with Montenegro, Kosovo and North Macedonia as a "model".
"We have shown that open cooperation and trusting each other makes it possible to build successful investigations," declared the Head of SPAK.
According to Dumani, there are three important elements of regional cooperation.
"Joint investigation teams and cross-border operations, financial investigations and asset recovery, secure communication, sharing of real-time intelligence," said the head of SPAK.
