The chairman of the Euro-Atlantic Democrats, Lulzim Basha, has repeated his call for the approval of the vetting of politicians, as a necessary step for cleaning politics from corruption and ties to crime.
Through a post on the Facebook social network, Basha emphasized that the efforts for this will not stop despite the attacks and false accusations against him. He accuses the political opponents of blocking this initiative in the Assembly for narrow personal interests and emphasized that there has been propaganda for the closure of TikTok.
" The river of mud that has been thrown over the years on me, and also on all those who stand for a politics with a human face, away from noise, lynchings and false accusations, neither discourages nor stops me in my effort to offer a different model from the one that, unfortunately, has dominated for 34 years. And to put an end to the theater of accusations of political consumption, which has poisoned the public debate by killing the trust of citizens, my invitation is to vote and implement the vetting of politicians.
For a year now, I have submitted a draft law to the Assembly to bring about the purification of politics, to separate the alum from the sugar once and for all, showing the Albanians with facts who is corrupt and who is not, who is connected to the crime of who didn't, who abused the trust of the Albanians and who didn't. The fear of those who make propaganda with TikTok, but are head over heels in EncroChat, keeps politicians' vetting locked in the drawers of the Assembly. Therefore, I invite the citizens to give their support by voting to our project on May 11, so that politics does not remain a dirty game in the hands of the corrupt who serve crime, but an activity that serves Albanian families and works for well-being theirs ,' he said.
