
The Constitutional Court has postponed the hearing for the review of the agreement between Albania and Italy for immigrants.
The next session will take place on January 29 at 10:00 am.
The hearing was postponed after the 30 opposition MPs who submitted the request for the annulment of the agreement in December, also submitted the request for some additional evidence related to the agreement.

1. Today, on 24.01.2024, the Constitutional Court held the next plenary session to examine the request submitted by 30 deputies of the Assembly of the Republic of Albania, with the object: "Declaration incompatible with the Constitution of the Protocol between the Government of the Italian Republic and the Council of the Ministers of the Republic of Albania "For Strengthening Cooperation in the Field of Migration" and the prohibition of its ratification by the Assembly. Suspension of the procedures for the ratification of the Protocol between the Government of the Italian Republic and the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Albania "For Strengthening Cooperation in the Field of Migration".
2. During the review, the Constitutional Court found that on 23.01.2024, at 15:55, the petitioner submitted additional written submissions, in the content of which some evidence was requested. The additional submissions were communicated to interested subjects on 24.01.2024, at 9:30 am.
3. In these circumstances, the Court, based on articles 43 point 1 letter "ë" and 44/a of its organic law, which provides for the right of the parties to oppose the requests, conclusions and explanations of the other parties, decided to postpone the court session the next on 29.01.2024, at 10.00.
