About 8 thousand people have moved on both sides of the border with Greece, through the customs of Kakavija, during the last 24 hours.
Representatives of the Border Police in Gjirokastër claimed that on Friday 5,615 people and 1,769 vehicles traveled to the Greek state, while 2,312 people and 639 vehicles entered Albanian territory. Most of the flow of movement at the border belongs to immigrants returning to Greece after spending the end-of-year holidays in their homeland.
There are no waiting queues at the document control counters, while the Border Police in Kakavija works with 4 counters at the exit and 2 at the entrance, while the Greek side has also added counters for document processing.
The flow of traffic at the Kakavije customs office is expected to be high even during the weekend.
