A few days ago, the Albanian government decided that 15 artists and sportsmen should be treated with a special pension.
While among these names was not that of the well-known composer and director Osman Mula, the latter reacted through a message on social networks. Mula said that despite his contribution to national art for many years, as a composer and director, he cannot receive a special pension.
Mula emphasizes that she did not benefit from the pension because Prime Minister Edi Rama hates her.
"I knew that I would not receive the special pension! Because my name would pass into your hand. Even though my name has been on your desk for seven years now as the priority of the letter of the Ministry of Culture, as I have been twice appreciated by the presidents of Albania with the highest titles.
It would be in your honor to appreciate an artist who has taken a critical stance towards you because, after all, you are also my prime minister. But hatred did not leave you, it is exactly what characterizes you and has conquered your brain and eyes. The pension is not given for contribution to the Party, but for the continuous contribution he gives to the national art, without moving a day from Albania and making a contribution to RTSh as a director and as a composer, as I have many awards.
I am neither servile nor conjunctural because I would at least receive an appointment from the other side, but I was also untrustworthy for them. This is the strength of a creator. If I use a word from the area where I grew up: I saw the black cheek. I am proud as I am, an idealist but a rebel against injustices both left and right", he writes.
