The first two "Black Hawk" helicopters from the USA have arrived in Tirana. The US Embassy announces that they arrived via a transport aircraft, as it states that they will be used to carry out medical evacuation, personnel recovery, search and rescue missions, as well as supporting NATO logistical movements for operations and training.
" Historic arrival of Albania's first UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters. A United States C-17 transport aircraft arrived in Tirana today to deliver Albania's first order for Black Hawk helicopters, supported by over $50 million in US aid funds. The new helicopters will help strengthen the capabilities of Albania's air force and the ability to conduct medical evacuation, personnel recovery, search and rescue missions, as well as support NATO's logistical movements for operations and exercises. The United States is proud of the strong partnership with Albania in the field of defense ", the embassy announces.
