The Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy has warned citizens to be careful of some fraudulent messages that have recently been circulating on behalf of this institution and the General Directorate of Road Transport Services (GDRTS).
Through an announcement on social networks, the Ministry of Interior announces that citizens are being sent SMS messages containing suspicious links regarding "fines" or various payments.
The institution has called on citizens not to click on any such links, not to provide personal or banking information, and to immediately delete suspicious messages.
In its response, the Ministry of Interior recalls that official state websites end only with the domain ".gov.al" and for any verification, citizens should only use official channels, such as the e-Albania platform.
"In recent days, fraudulent messages have been circulating in the name of the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Public Works. These SMS messages that arrive on citizens' phones contain suspicious links for 'fines' or payments. Be careful!", the ministry's announcement states.
The Ministry of Interior has asked citizens to distribute the notice to inform other people about this fraud scheme.
