The Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Albania, through an official announcement, has provided details about the ceremony that will be held in Tirana in honor of the late Archbishop, Archbishop Anastasi.
The official announcement states that the reception of the body of the late Archbishop will take place in front of the "Resurrection of Christ" Cathedral in Tirana, on Tuesday, January 28, at 4:00 PM.
Following the reception, tributes will be held inside the Cathedral this afternoon and throughout the day tomorrow, Wednesday, January 29, 2025, while the funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 30, at 11:00 a.m., following the Divine Liturgy.
Meanwhile, the Holy Synod decided that the Metropolitan of Korça, His Grace Joan, be elected as Supervisor (Locum Tenens) of the Archbishopric Throne.

The Holy Synod of the Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Albania convened in an extraordinary session today, January 25, 2025, at 11:30 am.
In this session, the Synod expressed its deep sorrow for the repose in God our Father and Chief Shepherd, the late Archbishop of Tirana, Durrës and All Albania, His Grace Anastasius.
The Holy Synod also made the following decisions:
1. The election of the Metropolitan of Korça, His Grace Joan, as Supervisor (Locum Tenens) of the Archbishopric Throne.
2. The declaration of a five-day period of church mourning, from January 25 to 29, 2025.
3. The reception of the body of the late Archbishop will take place in front of the Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ in Tirana, on Tuesday, January 28, at 4:00 p.m. After the reception, homage will be held inside the Cathedral during this afternoon and throughout the next day, Wednesday, January 29, 2025.
4. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 30, at 11:00 AM, after the Divine Liturgy.
At the end of the session, the Holy Synod held a devotional service and, at the same time, invites all believers to join in prayer for the repose of the soul of our Father and Bishop, the late Archbishop Anastasios.
