The former German ambassador in Tirana, Peter Zingraff, has passed away. It is learned that a serious illness has led to the death of the former German ambassador in Tirana.
The news was announced by the German embassy in a Facebook post.
Peter Zingraf, the German Ambassador in Tirana, who exercised his function from 2019 to 2023, passed away on May 20, 2024.
"It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of our late colleague Peter Zingraf.
Peter Zingraf, the German Ambassador in Tirana from 2019 to 2023, passed away on May 20, 2024 after a short but serious illness.
His sudden loss has shocked us all. Peter Zingraf will be remembered as a friendly, humorous and always approachable person and as a great colleague and friend", announces the German Embassy in Albania.
Who was Peter Zingraff?
The former German ambassador in Tirana studied Romanistics (history of French and Italian literature) in Aachen, Poitiers-France and Florence-Italy. He has worked as a research associate at the universities of Aachen and Freiburg im Breisgau. Peter Zingraf is married and has two daughters.
As for his diplomatic career, it started in 1993 when he joined the Foreign Service.
