Prime Minister Edi Rama says that builders will not be allowed to do whatever they want with the facades of buildings, warning that this will lead to confiscation.
Rama said that so far the Government has not been allowed to take extreme measures against builders, as they have used people like Hamas, putting them in apartments without finishing the work and without mortgages.
"Increasing the role of the State Police, for the control and monitoring of the territory. It is strengthened with new legal instruments and the local government is also given the opportunity to have immediate interaction with the state police regarding this issue."
There are new predictions for the non-implementation of facades according to projects. In Albania, the largest group of international architects operates in the same country and there are about 200 international architects who are involved in projects in Albania and a significant part of them are the biggest names in the world. The builder does whatever he wants with the facade.
The facade is the right of anyone who does not live in that building to have aesthetic presentations in the place where they live. Even for the facade, as other legislation states, it can go as far as confiscation.
To this day, they have made many things difficult for us, because they have used people like Hamas to protect themselves, they have brought people in without occupancy certificates, without finishing the works, without installing elevators, etc., etc.
And they have made it impossible to take extreme measures, like what are you going to confiscate there, when people are inside, how are you going to block it further.
"The fundamental change we are making with these interventions is that there will no longer be water and electricity without obtaining a certificate. There will no longer be another permit being obtained and another permit being implemented. Even the facade will go as far as confiscation," said Rama.
