The city that has elected Rama as an MP several times has been left without water. For 3 days, the citizens of Vlora have not had drinking water as a result of a defect caused in the main water transmission line.
Meanwhile, several citizens have responded to the call to protest this afternoon. With empty water cans in their hands, they gathered to express their revolt against local and central government, in front of the "Petro Marko" Theater. Some of them were even able to enter the theater's premises.
This situation has led the people of Vlorë to turn to the city's drinking water sources with cans in their hands. The most problematic situation is reported to be at the city hospital, where it is said that patients are being supplied with water from fire trucks.
An intervention carried out two days ago to fix a minor technical problem has ended in an even more serious breakdown, after the pipeline burst during the works, completely disabling the supply system.
Meanwhile, works on the main transmission line, with a diameter of 1000 mm, began from the first moment the defect was detected and have continued without interruption, but the problem has not yet been solved.
The head of the Vlora Waterworks, Ermal Murati, stated today that alternative solutions have been provided for institutions of special importance, while the intervention for the final repair is still ongoing.
"The transmission line has suffered a serious crack. The pipe is specific and this pipe is used specifically only in Vlora. On the 26th, a short supply was made, 1 hour-1 hour and 30 minutes. We are still working to make the supply," he said.
Affected residents have expressed their concern about hygiene and health. They raise the alarm that an epidemic could break out, as dozens of homes have neither drinking water nor reserves in their tanks, failing to meet their vital needs.
"Very urgent and worrying case. Vlora has been without water for 3 days. We are in trouble, we are on the verge of an epidemic, it has become a m*sser. We don't know what the problem is, people are s**ing under the buildings," said one of them.
