Cars coming from South Korea are gaining ground in Albania, however, two European countries, Italy and Germany, continue to hold the first place. The data from the Open data of the General Directorate of Road Transport Services show that in the months of January-May of this year, a total of 26,855 vehicles were registered, of which 22,461 are only cars.
Meanwhile, in the same data, it is reported that the month of May holds the highest number of vehicle registrations for the first time, reaching 6915 registered vehicles.
But what is the country of origin of the means registered in Albania?
From the same data, Italy is the first country that imports more vehicles, reaching the figure of 6127 vehicles registered in 5 months. Germany takes second place with 5899 vehicles, followed by Switzerland with 2852 vehicles.
Since they are countries closer to Albania, and their transport is more accessible, but the figures show that South Korea has taken the fourth place in terms of importing tools, reaching 1770 such, leaving the United States America in fifth place. And for the tools imported from the USA, 1252 were registered in the first 5 months.
Referring to the regional directories, the capital takes the first place in vehicles registered for the first time, then Durrës, Fieri and Gjirokastra is the last city that registers fewer vehicles.
The General Directorate of the Road Transport Service publishes guidelines for vehicles that are not allowed to be imported. First, there are cars with 0 kilometers that have not been previously registered for circulation in any other country and that do not meet the Euro 5 category.
Second, used cars that do not meet the EU Euro 4 category, and lastly, cars that do not meet the Euro 3 environmental category and that are not manufactured more than 15 years before the date of first registration in Albania.
