Athens' attacks and stances on Fredi Belleri appear not to be supported by all Greeks. The harshest reaction against was that of former deputy minister Nikos Xydakis, who criticized the figure of Beler.

However, he has faced strong attacks and accusations these days. But the well-known Greek journalist Dimitris Psarras came to his side. The latter has written an article on the " 4 News " portal, where he shares the same views as Xydakis. He remembers the massacre of Peshpia by Beleri, while not even Berisha was spared.

The documented position of the former SYRIZA minister about the "dark" past of Fredis Beleris incited the anger of nationalist and ultra-conservative circles, launching attacks and accusations against him.

Nikos Xydakis, the former Deputy Foreign Minister in the government of Alexis Tsipras, since yesterday is facing an organized attack because of what he said on Monday on ERT 1 regarding the case of Fredis Beleris. But what exactly did Mr. Xydakis say?

"Beleris is not an innocent man. It has a political history and a dark history. Should have cleaned up this story many months ago. And not to become a bone of contention and a diplomatic thorn in the already not so easy relations between Athens and Tirana", he said.

The positioning was clear and documented. It is a fact that Mr. Beleris has not started the political action in the last month. It is known to everyone that this is a member of the Greek minority with a political past, but he has been brought before Greek justice for a case that Xydakis rightly calls "dark".

It is about the activity of Greek paramilitary gangs on the Greek-Albanian border, which were discovered in 1995, with the arrest of a group in which Beleris also participated (see "Unknown Freddy Beleris", "Ef.Syn". 29.5.2023, https: //tinyurl.com/2n9kuch3). Anyone who wants to understand the political background of the issue should make the effort to read.

Greece, of course, must support the political and human rights of the minority and in this case it is clear that they have been violated with the detention of Beleris. However, the Greek state cannot drag itself behind dark political elections or follow without complaint the interlocutors of the jeweler Michaloliakos and the adventurer group Karatzaferi-Pleuri.

The worst thing is that those who appear as careless defenders of national interests are actually playing games inside Albania.

Yes, the current Prime Minister Edi Rama seems to be responsible for what happened before the elections in Himara and the continuation of the detention without trial of Beler, but at the same time the one who supports the elected mayor is the former president (his old stalker) Sali Berisha, who denounced the "Stalinist actions of Edi Rama", spoke about his "mafia interests" and called on residents to vote for Beler ("Daily", 7.6.2023). Do all the deceased Beler fans really remember Berisha?

Bad lies. "The nation must learn to consider as national what is true", was the emblematic reflection of Solomon saved by Polylas. Who dares to follow this advice today?
