
The Llogara Tunnel, which has been free for two consecutive summer seasons, will be toll-free from today. The prices for each category of vehicles have been published in the Official Gazette and range from 100 lek to 5,000 lek.
For motorcycles and two-wheeled vehicles the fee is 100 lek.
For passenger cars and light delivery vehicles, the fee is 250 lek.
For passenger cars with trailers, light distribution vehicles with trailers, the fee is 500 lek.
For vans, minibuses, medium-sized vehicles, the fee is 1,000 lek.
For heavy vehicles, buses, trucks with multiple trailers, the fee is 5,000 lek.
Subscription fees for regular users will be determined 6 months after the entry into force of this instruction.
Several categories are excluded from this fee for the Llogara tunnel:
-Traffic Police, ambulances and firefighters.
-Military and NATO vehicles.
-Persons who enjoy disabled status (when the vehicle is used for personal needs).
-Vehicles of employees of the ARA or the National Road Operation Authority during duties.
Categorically excluded from passing through the tunnel are all vehicles that transport hazardous materials.
We recall that the cost of building the tunnel has reached over €260 million. The construction of the tunnel began on November 15, 2021, after the announcement of a tender competition that was won by a Turkish consortium consisting of two companies: “Intekar Yapi” and “Asl Insaat”. It is worth noting that the tender carries a “red flag” for unfair competition, according to Open Procurement Albania.
