From Tomorri to Mount Dry in Prespa, the Ministry of Defense takes stock: How

The general director of Civil Emergencies, Haki Çako, in a statement to the media, took stock of the fire situation in the country.

Çako said that during the last 24 hours, 44 fires have been identified in different areas of the country, of which 34 have been extinguished and brought under control, while 10 still remain active, but are under continuous monitoring.

During today's day, the Operational structures at the local and central level, supported by air intervention from the Romanian team, are engaged in extinguishing and isolating the fires.

The fires in Tomorri mountain, Thata mountain in Prespa, Bollotek mountains and Tërnova mountain in Bulqiza, which are far from the inhabited centers, continue to be active.

275 firefighting forces, 219 military forces, 44 effective from the state police, 161 civil emergency structures of the local government, 52 from the administration of protected areas, 54 from the forest service, as well as 98 volunteers.

The Air Force with its troops and equipment are on full alert.

We appreciate the work done so far by the municipalities affected by the fires and ask them to commit to the maximum, to inform the public and the endangered community, to ensure the functioning of the monitoring, early warning, notification and alarm system in their territory as and inform the District Prefect and the National Civil Protection Agency in time about fire situations.

We also invite them to cooperate with the neighboring municipalities, engaging the capacities in dealing with fires.

We ask the local authorities, in accordance with the law, to keep the structures of the civil defense system on alert, as well as to activate the capacities of public and private entities to deal with and alleviate the situation from fires.

The Ministry of Defense, the National Civil Defense Agency and all the institutions and structures of the civil defense system will continue to monitor the situation without interruption and engage all capacities at the national and international level as appropriate.
