The Albanian Road Authority (ARRSH) has announced that the road to Theth will continue to remain closed, due to intense snowfall and high avalanche risk in this segment.
According to the ARA, the maintenance contractor is on site and is closely monitoring the situation. However, intervention with heavy vehicles in these conditions could trigger massive landslides of the snow layer, increasing the risk to road users.
Authorities emphasize that the safety of citizens remains a priority and call on all drivers and visitors to avoid any movement on this road axis until weather conditions improve and the situation fully stabilizes.
The ARA announces that it will immediately inform the public as soon as the road is deemed safe for traffic.
"Due to the intense snowfall and high risk of avalanches, the road to Theth will continue to remain closed.
The maintenance contractor is on the ground, closely monitoring the situation, but the intervention with heavy equipment creates shock and activates the mass sliding of the snow layer.
Citizen safety is a priority, so we call on all drivers and visitors to avoid any movement on this road segment until conditions improve and the situation stabilizes.
"The Albanian Road Authority will announce immediately as soon as the road is safe for traffic," the ARRSH announcement states.
