SPAK closes the investigations for Olsi Rama: There is no connection with Xibraka's drugs
The Special Prosecutor's Office has amnestied the prime minister's brother, Edi Rama. SPAK has closed the investigations for the Xibraka laboratory and has come to the conclusion that Olsi Rama has nothing to do with the cocaine that was processed there.
SPAK launched an investigation after the publication of some documents by Gazment Bardhi, which revealed that the prime minister's brother had been driving in and out of Xibrakë.
In a reaction to the media, SPAK states that after the investigations, it has not found any evidence linking Olsi to the incident and therefore has suspended the investigations, handing over the file to the police.
" We inform you that the Special Prosecutor's Office has completed the investigations for criminal proceedings no. 88 of 2024, registered after the resumption of the suspended investigations of criminal proceedings no. 335/1 of 2016. This proceeding was related to the criminal offenses of " Production and sale of narcotics", "Trafficking in narcotics" and "Perpetration of criminal offenses by structured criminal groups", provided for in the relevant articles of the Criminal Code. The investigations began after an information sent by MP Gazmet Bardhi, who claimed the involvement of citizen Olsi Rama in illegal activities. In the framework of these investigations, SPAK has carried out a series of investigative actions, including cooperation with the Kosovo authorities. The investigation shows that there are no evidence or facts that connect the citizen Olsi Rama with the criminal activity, for which several individuals were previously convicted. Also, no other possible perpetrators have been identified ", says SPAK in a reaction to the media.
He further informs that the investigations have been suspended and the file has been handed over to the police to discover other possible persons involved in this event.
This action of SPAK was expected. Edi Rama has exerted tremendous pressure on the prosecutor's office in each of his appearances for this case.
