The Task Force removes the sanitary hygiene package from the invalid of 30 years only with a medical visit via WhatsApp, lonely, abandoned, he serves himself, the legal guardian visits him once every few days and only brings him some food.
Ded Stojani from Laçi has been disabled for 30 years. In the last 3 years, the disease has taken both his legs and he cannot walk. Deda lives alone, has no help, washes, cooks and serves himself. To move there is an electric motor.
Deda directed you to Fiksi after he was cut off from the sanitary package. From 43 thousand ALL per month, they halved it. Deda tells Fiks that in December of last year they called him to assess his health. After they took it on camera, they saw that Deda has no legs and thread. After the inspection, Deda's payment for the hygiene package was removed. This is because the Task Force set up for the whole country has decided to remove this package only from the assessment they made by phone.
The fic looked closely at an ordinary day in Deda's life. From the moment he has to enter the house, one of the neighbors should help him open and close the door. Then he moved from the electric motor to a wheelchair that moved around the house and carried out his needs, such as cooking, bathing, washing clothes, and even moving from the wheelchair to the bed.
Deda says that he has a caretaker that the state has made available to him, but that she went once a day to bring him some food.
Fiksi noticed a bad smell in Deda's house, which means that it had not been cleaned for some time, so the caretaker did not visit that house from the inside.
After seeing the conditions in which Deda lived, the journalists of Fiks turned to the Kurbin Municipality to find out the reason for the halving of his camp.
Director of Economic Assistance and Social Care at Kurbin Municipality, Mr. Llesh Ndoci told Fiksi that the decision to halve the camp for Deda was taken by the Task Force, a group set up by the Ministry of Health. When the decision was made by the Task Force, the decision was appealed both for Deda and for 5 other people in Epror Camp. "The complaint was made on April 26 and there is a 3-month deadline for a response, then we will see how we will proceed, since this category requires a hygiene-sanitary package," says director Ndoci.
Meanwhile, when asked about the legal guardian of the grandmother who does nothing but bring her some food, director Ndoci clarified "It is a personal and notarial agreement made between the invalid and the person he has chosen as guardian. I know that the caretaker receives a payment from the state of 13 thousand lek per month and there is no complaint from Deda to replace her". To the journalist's question about how many hours a day a caregiver should take care of an invalid, the director explains that a few hours a day, which does not happen in Deda's case. As Deda herself is doubtful about the caretaker, saying that she comes every time I call her.
Director Ndoci explained that Deda has changed several caregivers and that in any case the request for her replacement is made by the disabled person and not by the social service. "We will do our verifications at Deda's house, but without a request or a complaint from him, the guardian cannot be changed," Mr. Fiksi concludes. It happened.
In the meantime, Fiks journalists tried to talk to the legal guardian, but she said that Deda has no oral or written complaint against her, but she has a complaint about the reduction of the camp./ TCh
