The return of the table of the special commission for the electoral reform produced nothing but chaos and confusion.
In the first meeting held today, the official DP was absent. In a direct link to the central news edition of "Vizion Plus" was the secretary for electoral issues in the DP led by Lulzim Basha, Rezart Kthupi. The latter, in a conversation with journalist Pranvera Borakaj, clarified the reasons why they were absent and what they expect from the Electoral Reform.

Pranvera Borakaj : You represent only 11 deputies in the Parliament of Albania, out of 62 that the opposition has in total. Why do you think you have the right to veto on behalf of the opposition in the Electoral Reform?
Rezart Kthup i: We represent the PD. All those MPs are from the Democratic Party, who at a certain point in time decided to leave this party. They are in uncertain conditions. PD is the political party with the largest group of deputies. They are MPs who came out of the PD vote. In the Assembly of the Republic of Albania, the legal entity that has the right to participate in the coalition... electoral reforms are made by political parties, not by deputies. Under these conditions, it is not a question of how many are the numbers in the Assembly, but what is the political party.
Pranvera Borakaj : Why weren't you at the meeting today?
Rezart Kthupi : For a very simple reason, we were informed by Gjiknuri that the hall where the meeting was scheduled to take place was occupied. In the conditions of an invasion, we cannot go to give the possibility of a fight to those who attacked Mrs. Açka two days ago. The brawlers can't wait to put on a show and we can't go to those places.
Pranvera Borakaj : In your proposals regarding the Electoral Reform, you ask for a new electoral system, the vote of immigrants and a series of other proposals that require 84 votes or 94 votes to be approved, why should the Socialist Party support your requests?
Rezart Kthupi : We do not ask the SP to support our demands. We ask that they provide a proper electoral system for Albanians. This system in current conditions has another will, which is the deformation of the will of the voters. The system creates a false majority, it is not such a majority that would be able to govern the country. We ask to review the electoral system that creates the possibility of voting among all voters and does not create false majorities.
Pranvera Borakaj : There is a concern in the ranks of the opposition that you should not approve the rules requested by Prime Minister Edi Rama that harm the opposition. Will you vote for such amendments? For example, would you vote for a premium electoral system?
Rezart Kthupi : No, we have said it more than once. It is not in any of the possible DP scenarios to vote for prim systems. It has been more than two months since we made our proposals public.
Pranvera Borakaj : You will not vote for any other proposal?
Rezart Kthupi : We are not talking absolutism. We've gone with our own suggestions, but we don't think they're the best or the most successful. As we speak today, our proposals are the only ones made public.
