The epidemiological situation in the entire region of Shkodra continues to be difficult.
The head of pediatrics at the regional hospital of Shkodra, Dr. Greta Naraçi, confirms that there are about 120 children who show up to receive outpatient care, while in 4 cases they had to be admitted to the intensive care unit.
"During this period, they have reached 100, 124 visits in one day, while the average is 35-40 visits per day from the outpatient service and admissions to day therapy, while hospitalizations in the ward are mainly those that have complications of these viruses that are followed by the family doctor for the first 3-4 days and then from daily therapy, they must lie down and need longer treatment. Currently there are 4 children" , said Naraçi.
Naraçi says that the COVID-19 virus is again present in the field, which in many cases has also affected children but without showing significant complications. Despite the fear of the symptoms, the doctor appeals to be careful in the use of antibiotics as they do not help to improve the situation if they are not consulted with the doctor.
"For the first 3 days, children must stay at home with their parents with the conditions of hygiene, cleanliness, air. Even after 3 days, if the situation is like this, they should go to the doctor and only with the doctor's prescription should they use medicines ", said Naraçi for "Euronews Albania".
With the start of 2024, the presence of viruses in the country was great, causing many citizens to go to hospitals to get help from a doctor.
