The President of the Republic of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan and the Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama, are present at the inauguration ceremony of the mosque.
In the opening speech during the inauguration of the Namazgja Mosque, Rama said that the long wait has come to an end, as he added that this is a special day for Muslims and that the opening of this mosque is the heritage of an entire people.
He further spoke about the difficulties encountered for the construction of the mosque from 2014 until today, as he did not leave without thanking Turkish President Erdogan and Turkey for financing the mosque.
"My very honored and very dear friend Erdogan. Dear Mrs. Erdogan. Very respected priests, friends and very respected believers. Here came the opening day of this temple of worship of the creator of the worlds. So welcomed by the Muslim community for many reasons. This shrine that breathes from a universal faith is the heritage of an entire people, which embodies what the prophet said about himself "I am the prayer of Ibrahim, the sihariq of Jesus and the dream of my mother. On November 14, 2014, 10 years ago, I named the beginning of this blessed work in the service of the Albanian Muslim community as the liberation of Namazgja. I can't forget how much good will it took to clean the Namazgja area, which was transformed into a market square, imposed on the prayer space and the need of the Muslim faithful to have their central temple in Tirana, just like their compatriots and brothers. those of the Catholic, Orthodox or Bektashi faith. It has been for me since the beginning a matter of honor and weight of duty that the great mosque entered cleanly into the life of our country as a missing object of worship in this country ," said Rama.
We remind you that for the management of the mosque built as a multifunctional complex that will serve other citizens as well as tourists, a Foundation will be established, headed by the imam of the Namazgja Mosque, Gazment Teqja in whose composition may also have representatives from Turkey. In the Mosque, 10,000 believers will be able to pray at the same time.
