In 5 municipalities of the country, Vlora, Tepelena, Berat, Mat and Cerrik, partial local elections are being held this Sunday to elect the mayor.
Two hours after the start of the voting process in many centers in Vlora, voter turnout is very low. Most ballot boxes are empty and interest in casting a vote for the new mayor seems very low.
The majority representative on the commission said that participation was normal, with 25 people voting by 9:00 a.m., while adding that they expected to have the influx of voters around 12:00 p.m.
"The turnout was normal, this is an old neighborhood of Vlora. As it is Sunday, a holiday and rainy weather, we expect more turnout in the following hours. We expect 12:00 to be the busiest because there is another area that gets up a little late...", he said.
