"LIVING" is Pamflet's newest documentary series, which brings to the spotlight the true stories of people who have gone through difficult times, with wounds that are not seen, but are felt.

The first episode opens with the story of Ylber Topalli, a former prisoner during the war in Kosovo, but above all, a man who survived and today lives with memories that have left deep marks on his body and soul.

A life that changed in June 1998

In the summer of 1998, Ylberi was arrested by Serbian forces while he was involved in the KLA organizational structures in the Ferizaj region. At the time, he had returned from Albania, where he had received military training along with other young people who believed in the freedom of their country.

In the documentary, he recalls the moment of his arrest as the point where his life changed forever – a clear division between “before” and “after.” After his arrest, Ylber was faced with a harsh reality: systematic violence, torture, and an attempt to break the human spirit.

“I was just a boy from Ferizaj…”

The narrative is not heroic. There are no big words. Instead, the documentary follows Ylber's simple words, which bring back fragments of memories, faces of friends, voices, screams, silence, and above all, fear. He narrates an attempt to escape; to escape violence, to escape prison, to escape oblivion.

At a crucial moment, during an escape attempt, he is seriously injured and left paralyzed. There, on the border between life and death, another chapter begins: that of survival.

The story of Ylber Topalli is not just the story of a prisoner or a fighter. It is the story of a man who has seen the darker side of life, but who still speaks about it not with hatred, but with calmness, to be heard and not forgotten.
