Police reaction
During today's rally, called and organized by the Democratic Party, as a result of attacks with Molotov cocktails, pyrotechnics and hard objects in front of the Prime Minister's Office and the Assembly Hall, 11 police officers, who were on duty to ensure the smooth running and security of the protest, were injured and are receiving medical assistance. They were visited at the Trauma Hospital and the burn unit by the Local Director of the Tirana Police, Elton Alushi, and the Deputy/Director for Order, Dashnor Muhaj.
Despite the continuous calls of the Police, through the voice center, to stop the acts of violence, they continued, which forced intervention to disperse the crowd, according to the legal provisions in force.
The investigative group, under the direction of the Tirana Judicial District Prosecutor's Office, has immediately begun work on legally documenting the violent actions of protesters against law enforcement officers.
Police services continue their actions through the analysis of video footage, to identify the persons who have attacked and committed violent acts, as well as to escort them.
Up to this moment, 23 people have been escorted, and during the verification of generation and age, one of them turned out to be a minor. The parents were immediately notified and, until he was picked up by his parents, the minor was not escorted to the escort rooms, but remained in the citizens' reception office, until he was picked up by his parents.
