"The police are in the hands of someone else, not Minister

Journalist Elkier Bushkolaj, speaking about today's assassination attempt in Rinas, recalled the statements of Prime Minister Edi Rama, who, in introducing the Minister of Interior, Albana Koçiu, stated that she would deal more with issues such as addresses and not with the police.

According to him, the power of criminal groups today lies in money and it seems clear that there is a lack of will to fight this phenomenon, but on the contrary, there is cooperation.

"When Edi Rama introduced Minister Koçiu, he said that it would be for addresses and not for the police. This was a clear message that the police was in someone else's hands. This shows the will of the authorities to fight crime. For the sake of truth, the State Police is only a part of the army in the fight against crime, that there is also the prosecution, there is also economic crime, there are taxes, there are customs... Let us not forget Dumani's interview or even his statements in the Security Committee and in Parliament that taxes, customs and other state institutions, which here referred to the State Police, referred to municipalities, municipal police, the Money Laundering Directorate, have zero references to the issue of money laundering. We are talking about structured criminal groups.

Excuse me, where is the power of structured criminal groups? The power of structured criminal groups is in money. And here it is clear that there is no will to fight, but here there is a will to cooperate. And where is this will to cooperate seen? This will to cooperate is seen in the economy. If until yesterday in Tirana, in Durrës, in Vlora, in Fier, we had some premises that could be identified with a person with a criminal record. Today we are in conditions where certain criminal groups are identified with apartment complexes and towers in Tirana and here there is clearly something wrong. Here clearly in relation to the value of the euro and the drastic fall of the euro there is something wrong and this does not concern these other law enforcement institutions. And then the final product is what we see today, it is bloodshed in the streets", Bushkolaj told "A2CNN".
