The President of the Republic of Albania, Bajram Begaj, today sent congratulations for the Eid al-Fitr holiday from the city of Elbasan.
He said that on this day of celebration, Muslim believers have reason to be happy, as they fulfilled the fast with pleasure, with the sole purpose of becoming more pious and worthy people for themselves and society.
Begaj conveyed a special greeting to the citizens of Elbasan for the harmony between each other in respect of different faiths.
"I am here to wish all Muslim believers: Happy Eid al-Fitr!
After the glorious month of Ramadan, to which the believers devoted themselves, I believe that with their prayers accepted, they are closer to God. I believe that they will be worthy citizens not only for themselves, but also for society. I am here in this wonderful mosque of the city of Elbasan, rebuilt in the same place where in 1608 Hasan Balliu built it for the first time. In 1967 it was destroyed, and thanks to God, it was rebuilt again in the same place.
I am in Elbasan, where there is an excellent tradition, where, in addition to the many cult buildings built, believers live in harmony, as in all of Albania. It is a great human value, a value that we must preserve, promote and inherit. I wish every good and prosperity for every Albanian, for every believer. Happy, once again, Eid al-Fitr!", said Begaj.
