Sali Berisha's lawyer, Genc Gjokutaj, speaking about the "Partizani" file and the accusations against the former prime minister, called the decision taken today against Berisha null and void.
In an interview for the show "Open" on "News 24", he stated that the process is irregular, as he added that the lawyers who were given Berisha's case were pressured to have their licenses revoked by SPAK.
" This decision did not even come as a surprise, it is the second phase. We have not been to the session of taking the measure, and it was taken in absentia. From the beginning, we established that Berisha is a member of the Assembly and the measure taken by SPAK limits the freedom of the former prime minister. You say the lawyers left, but no one says why we left. At this moment, not to play games, but to give a legal path to this process, we have received a legal power of attorney from Berisha to take a legal position.
We come to the session of the verification of the measure, we have requested the dismissal of judge Irena Gjoka, for abuse of duty, which consists in the violation of the Constitution. This is because Gjoka has taken a security measure by bypassing the Assembly. This is a legal violation. This judge could not make a decision, reject or approve and continued the trial, and as a result we told her that it is against the law. Today, the two lawyers appear, whose identity was not revealed until today at 10:00. The other two lawyers have arrived. SPAK has pressured that their license will be revoked. They had no reason to be revoked as lawyers.
