Analyst Arjan Curri argues that the procedural game for the trial against Sali Berisha is giving the former prime minister escape routes.
In an interview for Top Story, Curri said that the irregularities risk the judicial process being nullified. According to him, Berisha should not have voted for the law of that time where his son-in-law benefited since he has violated the conflict of interest law.
" SPAK itself, in a game with those who support Berisha but also with Rama, is giving Berisha an escape route that is being attacked politically. Making irregularities leads Berisha to a claim that he is a citizen who has not been subject to due process and risks nullifying the legal process. Simply put, Berisha is proven to be involved in a conflict of interest as the head of that body in the regulation of the territory, where the destination is changed from a sports field to a construction field. Berisha leads the meeting, where a relative of his benefits. As prime minister, I cannot chair a meeting where my son-in-law benefits from that decision-making. I cannot pass a law that benefits my son-in-law. Someone should advise Berisha not to vote. It has violated the law on conflict of interest ," Curri said
