As his location has been hinted at for some time, it is learned that Mirel Mërtiri is in Vienna, Austria.
Mirel Mërtiri, one of the persons wanted by the Special Prosecutor's Office as an irregular beneficiary of state money through incinerators, has long since disappeared.
Found guilty by the Special Court for the Elbasan incinerator, Mërtiri was sentenced by the GJKKO to 10 years in prison, but from the shortened trial, he benefited from a reduction of 3.2 years in prison, being ultimately sentenced to 6.8 years. The latter has also been declared wanted, but apparently the Albanian authorities cannot find him, perhaps due to the lack of information or perhaps by order from above.
As his location has been alluded to for some time, "OraNews" has learned that Mirel Mërtiri is in Vienna, Austria. According to reliable sources his official address is called Kolingase 4/1 OG 1090 Wien, Austria.
This address is already recorded by the special court where one of the judges will examine a request of Mirel Mërtir, the latter has been seeking asylum in Austria for a long time, but has not yet been able to receive it. Earlier in Vienna, his roommate Stela Gugallja was identified and she also requested asylum.
We remind you that in addition to Mërtir, Klodian Zoto and Stela Gugallja have also been announced as wanted for this issue. The latter is also Mërtir's co-habitant, with whom she has two children, who was also sentenced by the GJKKO to 4.8 years in prison.
We remind you that Mirel Mërtiri is considered the "shadow man" of the incinerators. His name did not appear in any of the companies that secured contracts worth hundreds of millions of euros for waste processing plants in Elbasan, Fier and Tirana.
The company was owned by his cohabitant, Stela Gugallja. But after SPAK investigations, it turned out that the real owner is Mirel Mërtiri. The conviction of the special prosecutors on the leading role of Mirel Mërtir has been established, after they secured a dozen electronic communications between him and other persons connected to the incinerator companies.
